ECP's Dr. Khoury cited by University of Cambridge's "Insights for Impact" 2016 report

Dr. Bassam Khoury, with our Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has been cited by the University of Cambridge's Insights for Impact report, highlighting "major studies in psychology and behavioural sciences" between 2011 and 2015.

Dr. Khoury's "Mindfulness-based therapy: A comprehensive meta-analysis," published by Clinical Psychology Review, was selected as "having contributed to a significant insight for this year".

The Insights for Impact report is an annual report furnished by the Policy Research Group in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

Dr. Bassam Khoury is Assistant Professor with the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Dr. Khoury's research focuses on clinical, social, and cognitive applications of mindfulness. His work also involves examining the process, outcomes, and effectiveness of mindfulness-based treatments. His current research program is primarily concentrated on investigating the effects of comprehensive mindfulness education program on the health and well-being of counselling/psychology trainees, the symptoms of their clients, and the therapeutic process. In addition, his research involves investigating the feasibility and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions for specific populations (e.g., schizophrenia, borderline patients, and forensic population). The principal goal of his research is to improve the health, well-being, and functioning of clinical and non-clinical populations via the development, implementation, and validation of effective meditation programs and mindfulness-based treatments.
