Convocation Photography

Photographs will be taken of you receiving your degree at convocation by our professional photographers. These will be available for viewing and purchase at following your ceremony.

There will also be a Portrait Studio set up close to gown distribution for individual and family portraits. It is on a first come basis and there are no appointments.  There is no sitting fee.

Additional information regarding photography will be posted soon. 

Diploma Frames

McGill degree diplomas are 17" wide by 11" high (horizontal format). Certificates are 11" wide by 18" high (vertical format).

The University Bookstore sells frames for diplomas and photographs. You can contact them at 514-398-7444 or visit their website.

Old McGill Yearbook

General information

For over a century, the Old McGill Yearbook has chronicled yearly events at McGill in one beautiful publication. The book is produced by the Students’ Society of McGill University, and proceeds support the Society’s operations.

Yearbook photos

Graduation photo sessions are organized by Lassman Studios for each faculty during the academic year.

Ordering a Yearbook

You may order the year book by stopping by the SSMU office to pick-up an order form or by visiting the website here.

University rings and other gifts

The University Bookstore  sells McGill rings and other gifts for grads.


Guests are asked not to present flowers to graduands before the ceremony, as they will not be permitted to carry them across the stage.

Parents and friends may order their flowers before the ceremony through a third-party company at this website.
